Conducting Business Responsibly

In-keeping with its promise to make the Institute more inclusive, The Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID) took its “Governance” message to the capital of the CentralProvince, Kandy, through a seminar on “Conducting Business Responsibly”.


The seminar which was organised in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of the Central Province (CCICP) was conducted in Sinhalese and constituted of the following.


The Company as a Legal Entity & the minimum requirements of compliance - Mrs. Indira Nanayakkara


Sustainable Development & the responsibility to the community - Mr.Jayantha Ratnayake


Minimum Finance, Accounting and Tax Issues - Mr. Gunaratne Dissanayake


Importance of Sustainability Development and Corporate Social Responsibility - Mr. Yukthi Gunasekera


Following the presentation, the participants posed a variety of questions and these were responded to by the presenters. Buoyed by the keenness shown by the participants in Kandy, the SLID plans to take the “Governance” message to other parts of the country in an even more aggressive manner.
